He seemed kinda resigned to the fact that he'll have to give the name up if things go legal. Thing is, he asked Pepsi and Jay if they wanted to do it, and they weren't interested at the time.

It was only when Steevi got of his arse and did something that the others thought maybe it was a good time to cash in on the renewed interest. Better than driving a cab, anyway. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Oh, and seeing as Ace was part-credited on the Bezerk tracks, it appears some of those songs may find their way into the Steevi Tailz set-list. The Love Bomb Baby rehearsal rumours were not just rumours.

Actually, at the .co.uk site, they're being
very coy about what, exactly, they've been doing
for the past decade. Pepsi edited a Stereophonics
video and.... that's about all I know. We (Ratpack)
did Rioz with them on their [last] Wazbones tour,
and they were on top form. I don't know why they
stopped.

Mmmm, I saw the Wazbones show at the Marquee, and it wasn't too bad. The energy was still there. There was one or two tracks off that album that I liked, Dirty Needles springs to mind. Perhaps the change in direction was a bit too radical for the die-hards at the time. All the catchy party bands were trying to be serious (Poison-Native Tongue, Warrant-Dog Eat Dog, Shotgun Messiah-Violent New Breed, etc). The music just wasn't fun like it used to be.

Good point. It was becoming more serious, or
more influenced by cheapening technology and
Soundgarden (or whatever). The mid/late-90s
were a strangely gloomy time all round really:
lots of things happening, lots of things ending,
etc. People kind of drifting, not really knowing
what to do next (which is what happened to
Tigertailz, I suppose) - people waiting for the
new millennium to either bring forth the
apocalypse or to make everything all rosey and new
in a New (i.e. misleading and spurious) Labour
sort of way again. What they got, was 'Nu'
everything, whatever that really means.

Grunge, I think, was more of a produce
of this rather than something which aided in
making things worse.

Yeah, agreed. The 20-somethings were becoming 30-somethings, trying to find something to breathe life back into the music. Singing about shagging schoolgirls was verging on Gary Glitter territory.

Haha! Ratpack recorded their last demo
('Scarlet St.') at Tony Leonard's studio (Lincoln,
'96). Leonard was in the Glitter Band for 20 years.
We couldn't get a peep out of him about the shitter
Glitter one. I think all the band knew what was
going on - which makes them all accountable in
a way. Everybody gets a good old giggle out Glitter's
paedo-adventures, but the documentary was actually
horrific.

Thankfully, I didn't see that one.
He's better off in Cambodia. He wouldn't last long if he came back here. Supposedly it's an illness, but it's hard to feel sorry for him, especially as he doesn't seem too concerned about getting treatment for it.

I think he was booted out of Cambodia for similar
offences, but with a little boy, as opposed to the
7-year-old girls which normally put a twinkle in
his eye.
